How to Use Anita’s Glass Paints.
|
For all the projects on this page you will
need...
|
Suncatchers
1. Secure the design of your choice under the leading blank (smooth
side upwards), with masking tape.
2. Lead the design outline making sure that all the leading lines are
joined to one another and that the leading is not too thin. This reduces
the risk of tearing.
3. Once the leading is dry, colour in each section using the paint
directly from the bottle, ensuring that the paint is taken right up to the
edges of the leading and is not too thin.
4. Leave the designs to dry for about 24 hours, then carefully peel the
designs off the leading blank. Place onto a high gloss surface and firmly
press down. No glue is required. Peel off to change design layout.

Decorated Glass Bottles
1. Using a sea sponge for a mottled effect, or a brush for a
smoother effect, apply the glass paint thinly all over the bottle and
leave to dry. Blend several colours for interest. TIP. If the colour is
too pale once dried, apply a second coat.
2. Create the suncatcher of your choice onto Anita’s Leading Blank
(as above) and leave to dry. Choose a design which works well with your
choice of base colour.
3. Once the suncatcher is dry, remove it from the leading blank and
position onto the bottle. Be careful when repositioning peelable designs
on sufaces which you have base coated in this manner, as the sponged
colour may stick to the design and tear.

Greetings Cards
1. Choose a design relevant to the size of the aperture of your card
and create on Anita’s Leading Blank (see Suncatchers). Leave to dry for
24 hours.
2. Use glue or clear tape to secure a sheet of acetate (cut to size)
behind the aperture.
3. Once the peelable design is dry, remove from the Leading Blank and
position onto the acetate, overlapping the aperture of the card if
desired. No glue is required.

Sun
1. Paint the sun design from the Anita’s Celestial Design Sheet onto
Anita’s Leading Blank and leave to dry.
2. Assemble a card to your preferred size using thick coloured paper.
Decide where the sun-catcher is to be placed and cut an aperture to suite
the design. TIP cut an aperture the size of the centre of the sun instead
of the whole design. This will highlight elements of the design you want
to have focus on, in this case, making the sun’s centre seem brighter
when held up to the light.
3. Glue the design over the aperture using clear drying glue. If the
card is made of shiny material, you will be able to press the design in
place without using glue.

Bird in a Tree
For an interesting effect, try placing your dry, peelable designs over
coloured, shiny metallic vinyl! Simply cut a piece of vinyl the same size
as your design and stick it to the front of your card (no glue is required
as the vinyl is self adhesive). Place the glass paint design over the
vinyl and press firmly (no glue is required as the vinyl has a shiny
surface). Works very well with all Anita’s Glass Paint colours,
especially with clear! Coloured paper can be also used.

| Idea - Create your
suncatcher designs on the Anita’s Leading Blank and once dry, peel off
and press onto mirrors! Create the same designs several times to make a
border. |
